what is a Chemical Peel?
For the highest quality results from chemical peel treatments, Med Spa at Seena One (Corrective Skin Care)provides you with an array of customized facial treatment options. A professional chemical peel with exfoliating solutions (such as glycolic, salicylic, lactic, and trichloroacetic acids) can give you more radiant skin and a more even skin tone. At our Burleson, TX office, qualified physician Dr. Mukhtar Anees and our expertly trained medical aestheticians use the professional-grade chemical peel solutions, including PCA Skin® and the Epionce™ Peel System (No down time). Chemical peel facials reduce the appearance of skin abnormalities, such as scars, fine lines, wrinkles, uneven patches, hyperpigmentation issues, and more. These advanced solutions work to remove dead or damaged skin cells by using a special exfoliating solution applied to the skin, which causes dead skin cells to slough off. When your skin heals and begins to repair itself after a chemical peel, you will notice a smoother, clearer complexion. A chemical peel treatment is a nonsurgical technique to brighten and enhance your complexion and may be appropriate for both the face and neck.
what are the TYPES of Chemical Peels?
At our state-of-the-art facility, we provide chemical peels in multiple strengths (light, medium, and deep) to meet the skin goals of Fort Worth and Burleson, TX clients.
Light peels: This type of peel removes the top layer of skin (the epidermis), giving your complexion a brighter appearance and smoother texture. We usually recommend that you schedule a light chemical peel once a month for the most consistent results. You can receive a light chemical peel on your lunch break and go right back to your day without restrictions or obvious side effects.
Medium-depth peels: Since medium-strength chemical peels reach deeper into the skin, patients usually prefer to receive this level of facial treatment right before a long weekend. Medium-depth peels are designed for patients who have significant damage to their skin, like deeper wrinkles and darker pigmentation issues. A medium chemical peel may cause mild discomfort during treatment and for up to one hour after the peel.
Deep peels: The most advanced chemical peel is the deep peel treatment, which also requires the longest recovery time. This is an aggressive cosmetic treatment that may leave the face itchy, peeling, and swollen for 2 – 3 weeks. Clients who undergo a deep chemical peel generally have age spots or dark spots, sun-damaged skin, significant acne scars, and/or deep scars. Because deep chemical peels are typically uncomfortable for patients, we will provide you with a topical anesthetic as a part of your treatment.

can i get a chemical peel?
Being evaluated by an aesthetic specialist is the first step toward smooth, healthy skin. When you visit Med Spa At Seena One, one of our expert aesthetic providers will assess your skin during an examination before helping you select a PCA Skin or Epionce chemical peel treatment (No down time) is ideal for meeting your skin needs and desired outcomes. Chemical peel candidates, including both women and men, generally have visible skin, like rough patches, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, flaky skin, fine lines, wrinkles, sun spots, and more. We can recommend multiple types of chemical peels to meet your goals and regenerate new healthy skin.
how is a chemical peel performed?
On the day of your procedure at Med Spa At Seena One, we will have you relax in one of our comfortable and private treatment rooms. Dr. Anees or our skilled aesthetician will ensure your skin is clean and free of debris before applying a topical numbing agent to minimize chemical peel discomfort. The personalized chemical peel solution will then be applied to your face and/or neck. The solution will be massaged into your face and allowed to sit for a certain amount of time. Then, we will clean the peel solution from your face and apply a neutralizing agent. Clients are advised to bring a light sunscreen and hat to wear outside following a chemical peel to protect them from UV sun rays.
how long is recovery after a chemical peel?
Based on the strength of the chemical peel you receive, you can expect the treated area to peel and itch for several days or weeks. A member of our team will provide instructions on how to care for your skin after a chemical peel as the top layers peel away and generate a healthy new glow. Please remember that no matter how much your skin itches throughout the healing process, it is never good to pick at flaking skin. This may cause scarring and damage your delicate skin.
chemical peel faq
How much does a chemical peel cost?
After your consultation for a chemical peel, we will customize your treatment plan and review your options. The cost of a chemical peel can vary based on the intensity you select; however, Med Spa at Seena One (Corrective Skin Care)offers some of the lowest chemical peel prices in the Fort Worth and Burleson, TX area. Our facility also accepts many payment methods and often runs specials on chemical peel treatments. You may also consider buying a package of chemical peel treatments or joining our cost-savings membership plan.
What level should I choose for my chemical peel?
The level of chemical peel best for you will vary based on your specific skin concerns and cosmetic goals. In your consultation with Dr. Anees or our aesthetician, we will help you select the PCA Skin or Epionce formula that matches your skin concerns. Factors to consider include your general health, your skin type, how deep you want the peel to work, the time you can commit to recovery, and any concerns you have about the appearance of your skin. If you are a first-time patient, it is better to start with a lighter peel and see what you think of the results. From there, we can adjust your treatment plan to determine the best chemical peel level for your needs.
Should I get a chemical peel or dermabrasion treatment?
Chemical peels and dermabrasion are both facial rejuvenation procedures that correct surface irregularities to give your skin a rejuvenated appearance. The main difference is that dermabrasion requires surgical tools (a rotating brush or shaving instrument) to clear away the top layer of skin through a careful exfoliating process. A chemical peel uses a caustic solution that is applied to your skin to dissolve damaged skin cells. During your consultation, our team will go over the advantages of each and help you choose whether dermabrasion or a chemical peel best fits your skin goals.
Will my face hurt after a chemical peel?
Based on the formula selected, you may feel mild discomfort during and shortly after your peel. If you choose a lighter peel, you will notice some stinging, but this generally goes away quickly with the use of a handheld fan. Medium and deep peels are better for deeper damage and longer-lasting results; however, they typically cause greater discomfort. Topical anesthetics, skin medications, and ointments can be used to minimize your discomfort during the chemical peel. Dr. Anees or our aesthetician will explain how to care for your skin after a peel to extend your results.
Can I combine a chemical peel with other treatments?
A chemical peel may be combined with another skin treatment at Med Spa At Seena One. We encourage you to be open about your skin and cosmetic concerns during your consultation so our team can develop a unique treatment plan that delivers your best results. Your plan may include adding injectable wrinkle treatments (such as Juvéderm or BOTOX) or other services along with your chemical peel to refresh your entire face and enhance your appearance.
